DescriptionSnow White and the Seven Dwarfs Sneezy, Happy, Bashful, and Sleepy Animation Drawing (Walt Disney, 1937). "I'd like to see anybody make ME wash - if I didn't want to!" Grumpy mocks his fellow dwarfs for their newfound bathing practices during "The Washing Song" sequence of the film. Snow White, who has cooked a tantalizing dinner, refuses to serve any of the Dwarfs until they have washed for the table. With original plans for all dwarfs to be indistinguishable from one another, better judgment eventually prevailed, and the characters were all given individual personalities and unique designs - and became stars in the process! This drawing can be seen as the six dwarfs nonchalantly whistle, feigning innocence, as they sneak up on an unsuspecting Grumpy. From left to right are Sneezy, Happy, Bashful, and Sleepy. In moments, Doc will shout out, "Get him!" - and all the dwarfs will drag Grumpy to the wash basin for a scrub, leaving him with flowers and pigtails in his hair. The image area, comprised of four dwarfs, measures roughly 10" x 5", and takes up a majority of the frame. The dwarfs are rendered in graphite on 12 field 5-peghole animation paper. Drawing is in Fine condition. A truly funny image - especially if you know what the Dwarfs are up to!
