DescriptionSnow White and the Seven Dwarfs/ Pinocchio Animation Drawings Group of 10 (Walt Disney, 1937/40). Ben Carter was the head engineer for the General Electric Company out of Bloomfield, New Jersey. He spent a year in California overseeing the installation of the massive new air conditioning system that would be used by the studio. At the time this was a revolutionary perk. He kept a detailed scrapbook of his year at the studio. He was interviewed about his year at Disney in a local newspaper. The article, of which a copy is included in the lot, reads, "Ben kept a large scrapbook during his year's stay in California as resident engineer. In it he has placed pictures of the project, his fellow engineers, Walt Disney himself, and others. 'ROUGHS' drawn by the Disney animators of 'Pinocchio' and several of the 'Seven Dwarfs' also have been placed in the book." In this lot is a collection of ten 16 field rough animation drawings that he was given. From Snow White there is a three dwarf "Silly Song" drawing, a Fred Moore Dopey rough, and two of the forest animals from Snow White. His Pinocchio roughs include five of Pinocchio and one of Jiminy Cricket. Extra pegholes at the top have been added that held them in his scrapbook. A total of ten rough animation drawings are in this lot. Minor handling, age-related toning, and edge wear. Condition is Good.
