Description

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs Layout Drawing (Walt Disney, 1937). "The Queen! Run away, hide in the woods, anywhere, never come back, now go... go... go... hide!" These are the words the Huntsman says to Snow White when he can't bring himself to kill her. This is an outstanding layout drawing of Snow White as she flees away in sheer terror and is caught up in the vines and tree branches before she falls into the water. Amazing graphite imagery on trimmed 12 field animation paper. This drawing was originally sold through the Courvoisier Program. It has the Disney emboss on bottom border and inventory number 3089 in red and Disney stamp on border. A copy of this is on the back of the frame. The drawing is attributed to Gustaf Tenggren (1896 - 1970). In Didier Ghez's great book, Disney - They Drew As They Pleased - The Hidden Art of Disney's Golden Age - The 1930's, he writes "Gustaf's work on Snow White involved backgrounds, layouts and some color designs. His talent was so obvious that his role was expanded on Snow White". This amazing piece of artwork is in a frame of 13" x 11.5" with a mat opening of 7.5" x 6". Frame is sold as-is, artwork has minor handling and is in Very Good condition.
