Description

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs Grumpy Animation Drawing (Walt Disney, 1937). As the Seven Dwarfs leave their cottage in the morning for work in their diamond mine, each receives a kiss at the door from Snow White. Initially Grumpy stalks away angrily, yet within a few paces the effect of her kiss sinks in and he slows, his eyes cross, he stops, blushes, and smiles contentedly. This excellent full-figure final 12 field animation drawing of Grumpy was created by Walt Disney Studios animator Vladimir Tytla and his assistant in production of Walt Disney's first animated feature, and a cel painting was made directly from it. Mr. Tytla, one of Walt's finest animators of the 1930s and early 1940s, supervised the animation of this scene. Art is in graphite with red, green, and brown pencil, with an approximate image size of 6.5" x 4.25". The animator wrote "86" at lower right to indicate this original's place in the scene; studio stamp denoting production, sequence and scene numbers appears at lower left. A Howard Lowery Certificate of Authenticity is included. Very Good condition with minor handling wear.
