Description

Sleeping Beauty Prince Philip Preliminary Animation Drawing Sequence of 4 (Walt Disney, 1959). "You know, Samson, there was something strange about that voice. Too beautiful to be real," recalls Prince Phillip as he takes off his boots, soaking wet from falling into a creek while chasing the source of a mysterious voice in the woods. In this lot, we have a remarkable sequence of four preliminary animation drawings showing Prince Phillip from Disney's Sleeping Beauty, posing similarly to what we see starting at the 28:54 timestamp of the film. Numbered 11, 59, 91, and 165 in the bottom right corner, these drawings showcase the animation mastery of Disney artists, as they show the character removing his boot with life-like naturality. The four drawings present the prince measuring figure sizes of 2.75" x 5.5", 3.25" x 5.75", 3.75" x 5.5", and 3.75" x 5" on their respective 16-field sheets, all done in graphite. Reinforced pegholes and normal age-related toning can be seen on the four drawings. Fold creases are present on the top right corner of drawing 11. In Very Good condition with minor handling and edge wear from production.
