Description

Sleeping Beauty Maleficent Animation Drawing (Walt Disney, 1959). "What a pity Prince Phillip can't be here to enjoy the celebration." Maleficent remarks to her raven with a wicked smirk, the nearby fire illuminating her features. This large 16 field 3-peghole animation drawing really captures the essence of the villainess; her head confidently held high, scepter in hand, and robes draped around her. This moment can be found at about 1:01:20 in the film as Maleficent sits on her throne, celebrating her victory with her loyal raven Diablo. The graphite with color pencil drawing is noted as 131 in the bottom right and initialed C.W. in the top right. This may be attributed to assistant animator Chuck Williams. This full figure villainess measures roughly 10.5'' x 8.25''. The page has light age-related toning with minor edge and handling wear. This includes light debris, faint smudges, superficial wrinkles, and a reinforced peghole. Very Good condition overall for this iconic antagonist.
