Sleeping Beauty Maleficent Animation Drawing (Walt Disney, 1959). Maleficent is not happy in this detailed 16 field 3-peghole animation drawing from the groundbreaking 1959 animated feature film. Maleficent's design and movement was based off of her live-action model and voice actor Eleanor Audley, who had also voiced Lady Tremaine in Cinderella. The masterful animation would continue to inspire artists and animators even decades later and would influence how Andreas Deja would animate the Disney Renaissance villain Jafar. Measuring about 4.5'' x 6.75'', Maleficent glares offscreen with her powerful scepter in hand and plots the demise of her many foes. The prolific villain has been rendered masterfully in graphite and is marked 15 in the lower right corner. The lot is in Very Good condition with light edge and handling wear and faint age-related toning.Auction Info
