Description
Sleeping Beauty King Hubert and King Stefan Preliminary Animation Drawing Group of 2 (Walt Disney, 1959). This lot offers a pair of regal preliminary animation drawings showing the famous monarchs from Sleeping Beauty, King Hubert and King Stefan. Laughing merrily with a fish in his hand, King Hubert's drawing is similar to what appears at the 43:35 timestamp of the movie after the character comedically ends his argument with King Stefan. The character is rendered in graphite and red pencil with an image size of 6.25" x 7" on the 16-field animation sheet numbered C-160 in the bottom right corner. The drawing of King Stefan displays a picture of the character similar to what we see at the 4:43 mark of the film, showing the svelte king rendered in graphite and red pencil on the 16-field animation sheet, numbered 213 in the bottom right corner, showcasing him with an image size of 4" x 8.75". King Stefan's drawing shows reinforced pegholes on the top edge. Normal age-related toning is present on the drawings. King Hubert's drawing shows faint wrinkling. Overall, the lot is in Very Good condition, with light handling and edge wear from production.Auction Info
