Description

Sleeping Beauty Briar Rose Sequence of 4 Signed by Disney Legend Marc Davis (Walt Disney, 1959). "But you know something? I fooled them. I have met someone." Briar Rose knows her aunts won't let her meet anyone, but they can't stop her from meeting the man of her dreams when he's in her dreams. The disguised princess has never looked more beautiful than she appears in the sequence of four 16 field animation drawings, each rendered in graphite. They were created by Disney Legend and one of Disney's "Nine Old Men" Marc Davis (1913 - 2002). After joining the studio in 1935, Davis became a top notch animator and brought characters like Snow White, Bambi, Tinker Bell, Maleficent, and Cruella de Vil to life and supervised Briar Rose/Princess Aurora's animation. These full figure graphite drawings of Briar Rose were created for about 27:21 in the film while she vents to her animal friends in the forest. The detailed figures range from 9.5'' x 5'' to 10.25'' x 5.25'' with one drawing signed by Davis. Each is presented in one huge 37'' x 30'' Plexiglas-fronted frame ready for display in your collection. They are proof of how hard Davis strived to make his characters believable and loved by the audience, whether they were a kind hero or the worst villain around, and are in Very Good condition with light toning, faint handling wear, and small smudges.
From the Disney Legend Inductee Andreas Deja Collection.
