DescriptionSilly Symphony - Bug in Love Background Layout Drawing (Walt Disney, 1932).
Bugs in Love is a Silly Symphonies animated short film produced by Walt Disney. It was notable for being the final Silly Symphony short to be shot with black-and-white film. In Bugs in Love the insects turn a junkyard into an amusement park. But when the crow shows up, their fun is cut short. Animation for Bugs in Love was done by, among others, Les Clark, the very first of "Walt's Nine Old Men" and Fred Moore, who would leave Disney to join Walter Lantz and ultimately redesign Woody Woodpecker before returning to Disney in 1948. From Bugs in Love we have a gorgeous layout drawing from the kitchen scene. The detail in this piece is truly amazing! The layout was created using graphite on 12 field 2-peghole animation paper. The artwork has a small tear in the top center portion of the piece and slight toning of the paper due to age; otherwise, the artwork is in Very Good condition.
