Description

Shanghaied Mickey Mouse Animation Drawing (Walt Disney, 1934). En garde! Bad Pete is up to his old tricks again and Mickey is ready to fight him off with whatever he has on hand in the action-packed 12 field animation drawing in this lot, even if that something is a fish. Shanghaied was directed by Burt Gillett and premiered in theaters on 1/13/1934. The short was the first to have Billy Bletcher voice Pete and featured animation from artists like Clyde Geronimi, Jack Hannah, Dick Lundy, Ben Sharpsteen, and Ed Love. The story was based on the Mickey Mouse comic strip The Captive Castaways with Mickey and Minnie both kidnapped by Pete and his pirate crew. But never fear! Our brave hero Mickey is ready for battle, full figure at about 5.5'' x 2.75''. He has beautiful color pencil highlights showcasing his movement, and you can find him at roughly 2:35 after he grabs the mounted swordfish from the wall and rushes towards Pete, who has been tormenting Minnie since he tied both mice up in the cabin. The valiant animation drawing of Mickey is noted 72 in the lower right corner and is in Very Good condition with only light edge and handling wear and faint age-related toning.
