Sesame Street Magazine Grover Illustration by Rick Brown (Jim Henson Associates/The Parenting Group, 1977). Grover's unofficial debut was on The Ed Sullivan Show, as a similar-looking Muppet character. His official debut was in the second season of Sesame Street, played by Frank Oz. This is an outstanding painting of Grover wearing his winter clothes on Sesame Street and tracking feathers, with Big Bird around the corner. This is from the November 1977 issue. The artwork is from the hand of longtime Sesame Street Magazine artist, Mr. Rick Brown, credited as Richard Brown in this issue. This was only his second artwork created for the magazine. He also did the cover, which showcases Grover in his winter wear on a beach. This is one great painting that really showcases the actual Sesame Street. Painting is in ink and watercolor on illustration board measuring 21" x 15", with an image area of 16.5" x 11". Signed (as Richard Brown) in the lower right. Tape and minor handling and edge wear on the white border. The condition is Very Good.
