    Sesame Street Magazine Big Bird's Birthday Illustration by Rick Brown (Jim Henson Associates/The Parenting Group, c. 1970s-80s). Sesame Street Magazine premiered in October 1970, with Big Bird on the cover. This magazine sold well over a million issues per month in its heyday. It was published up through 2000. This is an outstanding original painting used for a Big Bird's birthday in a 1970s/80s Sesame Street Magazine story. The painting showcases Big Bird, Cookie Monster, The Count, Bert, Grover, and a rare appearance of Mr. Snuffleupagus. The published artwork was done by the hand of longtime Sesame Street Magazine artist, Rick Brown, in watercolor and ink. Painting is on light board measuring 18" x 15", with the image area taking up 16.5" x 11". Mr. Brown did covers and interior artwork of this magazine for almost 30 years. He has signed the artwork in the bottom left corner. Minor handling wear. Very Good condition.
