    Description

Screwball Squirrel Animation Drawing (MGM, 1944). "I've had enough. Stop the picture. End this thing, will ya? " As this short comes to an end, the camera iris closes in, but Screwy steps up to push back the shrinking circle. Tex Avery is generally credited with creating the popular Bugs Bunny character for Warner Brothers and when he went to work at MGM, he was given the daunting task of creating the next Bugs Bunny... only better. Screwy Squirrel is the character he came up with and his over-the-top personality proved a little too intense for most viewers. As a result, only three Screwy Squirrel cartoons were ever made. The graphite image measures 4.25" x 5" and is framed with a mat opening of 7" x 7.75" in a 13.75" x 14.5" Plexiglas-front frame. Condition is Fine.
