Description
Scrambled Eggs Production Background (Walter Lantz, 1939). From the only Peterkin cartoon produced by the studio, which was the fourth entry in the CarTune Classic series. It was one of the first color cartoons by Walter Lantz Studios. The story was written by Elaine Pogany, and the designs and backgrounds were by legendary Art Nouveau Illustrator Willy Pogany (1882-1955), who went on to become an important children's book illustrator as well as a famous magazine cover artist. This cartoon had a rich feel thanks to his talents in design and backgrounds. This one-of-a-kind hand-painted pan background in watercolor on board measures an amazing 40" x 10". The intricacy on this painting is mesmerizing, as Pogany paid extreme attention to botanical details. Production notes are written along the top border. This is a masterpiece of a painting, by an important Illustration artist who dabbled in animation in the late 1930s. In Fine condition with Pinholes in corners and handling along edges.Auction Info
