Description

Robot Carnival "Franken's Gears" Oversized Layout Drawing (A.P.P.P., 1987). A dormant machine awaits the electric charge that will imbue it with life in this meticulously rendered layout drawing from "Franken's Gears," Koji Morimoto's incredible segment of the anime anthology movie Robot Carnival. A visually staggering tale of a mad scientist and his mechanical creation, "Franken's Gears" is the first short after the film's opening part. Masterfully crafted in graphite and colored pencils to plan for the scene that starts at the 9:03 mark of the movie, this engrossing layout drawing features the robot lying down on the table, surrounded by intricate machines and complex pipelines, measuring a sensational image size of 18.5" x 13.75". The layout drawing shows two tears on the top edge, one on the bottom, and one on the right edge, measuring 2", 2", 1.25", and 0.75", respectively. A fold crease is present in the middle of the drawing. With light handling and edge wear from production, the lot's condition is Good to Very Good.
