Description

Red Hot Riding Hood Animation Drawing by Preston Blair (MGM, 1943). "We now give you our brand new little sweetheart of swing, that red-headed ball of fire... Red Hot Riding Hood!" Preston Blair (1908 - 1995) animated this famous song and dance routine from Red Hot Riding Hood in this Tex Avery-directed short released back in 1943. It's a fantastic rough animation drawing of Red in the midst of her dance number. The 7.5" tall character is rendered in graphite on 12 field animation paper and signed by Preston Blair in the lower right corner. A Turner Entertainment Certificate of Authenticity accompanies the piece. This short is ranked #7 in Jerry Beck's book The 50 Greatest Cartoons and Red only appeared in six vintage theatrical shorts (plus a cameo in The Hick Chick). The drawing is in an 18" x 16" mat with a 12" x 9" window. Minor handling and condition is Very Good.
