Description

Reason and Emotion Hitler Character Design Drawing with Studio World War II Related Gag Drawing Group of 2 by Bill Tytla (Walt Disney, 1943). We have in this lot a set of drawings by the celebrated animator Bill Tytla, which showcases a character design sheet of Hitler done for the Word War II propaganda cartoon Reason and Emotion and two World War II gag drawings. Released in 1943, the short centered on the differentiation between reason and emotion, personified by a professor-like character and a caveman, modeled after the appearance of Ward Kimball. The cartoon then exemplifies how emotions can be manipulated, using the case of Adolf Hitler. The character design sheet offers many images of Hitler that occupy an overall image size of 10" x 9.25". The two studio gag images show takes on the swastika and of Hilter. The drawings are all done in graphite and present minor handling and edge wear, with minor age-related toning. In Very Good condition.
From the Famed Disney Animator Bill Tytla Archive.
