Description

Quick Draw McGraw and Baba Looie Illustration by Bob Singer (Hanna-Barbera, c. 2000s). "I'll do th' thin'in' around here, and don't you forget it!" You have to hand it to Hanna-Barbera for sheer audacity in making a horse a Wild West cowboy, but hey, the concept worked! Quick Draw McGraw was H-B's third animated television series, following The Ruff and Reddy Show and The Huckleberry Hound Show, with the first episode airing on 9/19/1959. Veteran cartoon scribe Michael Maltese wrote most of the stories. Artist Bob Singer may not have worked on the original series, but he did animate these characters in Scooby's Laff-A-Lympics, and having been a character designer, storyboard artist, layout department head, and publicity art director for Hanna-Barbera for 27 years, he had their style down pat. The art is in mixed media on deckle-edged art paper, with an approximate image size of 5.5" x 7", and floated in a mat with an opening of 15" x 12". It's framed with glass for an overall size of 21.5" x 18.5". The frame is sold as-is. Art condition is Fine.
