Puppy Love Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse Animation Drawings Sequence of 5 (Walt Disney, 1933). Our favorite cartoon couple (sorry, Popeye and Olive Oyl) have themselves one heck of a spat in this rare sequence of five original 12 field 2-peghole animation drawings. It's from the Wilfred Jackson short that was released to theaters on 9/2/33. The story has Mickey and Pluto visiting Minnie and her new pet, Fifi the Peke, who is introduced in this short. Pluto is so taken with Fifi that he steals the heart-shaped box, gives the candy to Fifi, and substitutes a bone in the box. The drawings begin at the 6:02 mark, as an angry Minnie gets ready to toss the bone back at Mickey (it lands in the empty box Mickey is holding). Mickey grabs Minnie's flowered hat by mistake and heads out the door. The drawings are numbered 492 (figure sizes each approximately 3.5"); #624 (figure sizes 3.5"); #673 (Mickey's figure size 4.5"); #679 (figure size 4"); and #684 (figure size 3.5"). Art is in graphite, with added red, green, and blue pencil highlights on three. The last page has a few added animator's notes. All pages are lightly toned with minor handling and edge wear; #492 has a few minor edge tears and a corner fold, all away from the image. Good to Very Good condition.
