Puppy Love Flip the Frog Animation Drawings Group of 16 (Ub Iwerks/Celebrity Pictures, 1932).
Flip and his dog spot a girl dog menaced by a mouse, and later try to save her from an evil dogcatcher in this, the nineteenth short in the Flip the Frog cartoon series. Here is a rare group of sixteen original concept and production drawings from this short, which was released on 4/30/32. Most feature Flip's unnamed dog, including a rough model sheet; Flip appears in one. The girl dog and the dogcatcher are also included in these drawings, most of which have been attributed to the hand of Ub Iwerks (1901 - 1971), the former Disney artist who created the original design for Mickey Mouse, and sole animator on Steamboat Willie. Three of the drawings appear to be production, with numbers in the lower right corner. All are in graphite, a few with added red, blue, and orange pencil highlights. One page is a torn fragment (image is complete), and one production page had the original number torn off and changed. Paper shows some minor toning, with handling and edge wear, and a few minor stains; overall condition is Good.
