Polar Trappers Goofy Animation Drawings Sequence of 3 (Walt Disney, 1938). Goofy and Donald Duck are trappers up in the frozen North in this Ben Sharpsteen-directed short, which was first shown in theaters on 6/17/38. In this sequence of three original 12 field 5-peghole animation drawings, Goofy has donned his walrus costume and slithered into an ice cave, looking for prey; after a few icicles come down on him, he looks up, pauses to ponder (as seen in this first drawing, numbered 41), looks back up (drawing #61), and reaches for a pin in his costume (drawing 96) to drop. The result? A giant icicle crashes down on him! These are great, large-sized images of our hapless hero, drawn in graphite and red pencil with image sizes of 6.5" for the first two, 8.25" for the last. The first piece has some slight edge wear, and all three exhibit mild toning and minor handling wear. Overall condition is Very Good.
