Description
Pocahontas John Smith Animation Drawings by John Pomeroy Sequence of 6 (Walt Disney, 1995). A young and determined-looking John Smith appears in this sequence of six rough animation drawings, created by Supervising Animator John Pomeroy for a key scene that was edited from the film while it was in production. In a scene with Thomas, John Smith holds up a portion of the palisade wall before shouldering his rifle and walking "away toward nature." Included is a photocopy of the Disney exposure sheet for this scene. John Pomeroy supervised the animation of John Smith throughout the film, and he signed each of these six 16 field graphite drawings. These are mostly large images, with figure sizes that range from 6.25" to 11.5" tall. The drawings are numbered 15, 37, 55, 83, 94, and 102. Overall condition is Very Good with minor handling. A Howard Lowery Certificate of Authenticity is also included.Auction Info
