Description
Pocahontas John Smith Animation Drawings by John Pomeroy Sequence of 3 (Walt Disney, 1995). "Should she not be allowed to choose for herself, sir?" Here is a trio of rough 16 field animation drawings of John Smith, created by Supervising Animator John Pomeroy for a scene that was edited from the film while in production. In a scene originally included near the film's end, Smith boldly confronts Chief Powhatan and challenges his decision regarding Pocahontas. There are two images in graphite, and one in blue pencil; average image size is 5.5" x 7.5". The drawings are numbered 29, A-75, and A-101; each has been hand-signed by John Pomeroy, who supervised the animation of John Smith throughout the film. Included is a photocopy of the Disney exposure sheet for this scene. A Howard Lowery Certificate of Authenticity is also included. Overall condition is Very Good with minor handling and mild paper toning on drawing A-101.Auction Info
