    Pocahontas John Smith Animation Drawing (Walt Disney, 1995).
    Pocahontas was the 33rd animated feature film from the Walt Disney Studios. The film was directed by Mike Gabriel and Eric Goldberg and produced by James Pentecost during a period known as the Disney Renaissance (1989 - 1999). Pocahontas is the first Disney animated feature film to be based on a real historic character, the known history, and the folklore and legend that surrounds the Native American woman Pocahontas, and features a fictionalized account of her encounter with British Navy Captain John Smith. This expressive rough animation drawing of John Smith, measuring 11.5" tall, was created by Walt Disney's supervising animator, John Pomeroy. Mr. Pomeroy supervised the animation of John Smith throughout the film. The piece is signed by John Pomeroy and includes timing sheet notations in the upper right. The drawing was rendered in graphite on 16 field, 5-peghole animation paper. Normal handling, Very Good condition.
