Pluto's White Elephant Pluto and Bobo Animation Drawing (Walt Disney, 1948). An interesting, but ultimately unsuccessful attempt to bring back the star of 1936's Mickey's Elephant, some cleaned-up animation was actually completed; unfortunately, however, little information remains about its plot. This unproduced film may simply have been an updated re-telling of the original short, in which Mickey receives Bobo the elephant as a gift - and Pluto fears his place will be usurped. Bobo's character design has certainly been brought closer in-line with the studio's other concurrent efforts; Bobo's revised look boasts much more appeal than his comparatively simple, pie-eyed design of a decade earlier. This adorable image tells quite a story though the body language of both characters: Pluto's initial suspicion is contrasted perfectly with Bobo's innocent and naively trusting nature. Beautiful full figure drawings of both characters have been rendered in graphite on 12 field 3-peghole animation paper. In Fine condition.
