Pluto's Sweater Pluto and Minnie Mouse Animation Drawings Sequence of 4 (Walt Disney, 1949). When Minnie knits a garish pink sweater for Pluto, he rebels against wearing the itchy thing, much to Figaro the cat's amusement. Forced outside, he struggles to get it off until finally, after falling in a pond, it shrinks and gets stuck on his head! This funny short was directed by Charles Nichols, and released to theaters on 4/29/49. This sequence of original 12 field 5-peghole animation drawings are from when Pluto has the shrunken sweater comically stuck on his head, just in time to scare Minnie, who was reading a book about the "Hooded Monster" when Pluto shows up in her window. In drawings #103 (with Pluto) and 50 (Minnie), Minnie reaches to help Pluto get the darned thing off his head. Minnie tugs at the stuck sweater until Pluto is finally free in drawing #67, which is a "look quick or you'll miss it" moment in the film as Minnie and the sweater tumble away. Art is in graphite and (on Minnie) red pencil. Minnie's figure size in #50 is a full 5.75", and the combined image size on #57 is 10" x 6", with a little added orange pencil added to Minnie. Condition is Good with some handling/edge wear and a few reinforced pegholes.
