    Description

Plane Crazy Mickey and Minnie Mouse Animation Drawing (Walt Disney, 1928/29). The Mickey Mouse short Plane Crazy was first shown as a silent film, to a test audience, on May 15, 1928, making it technically the first ever Mickey Mouse cartoon. Co-directed by Walt Disney and Ub Iwerks (who reportedly worked six straight weeks on this film, with the help of Hugh Harmon and Randolph Ising). Sound was added and the film was released to the general public on March 17, 1929 as the fourth Mickey Mouse short, after Steamboat Willie. This is an incredible, action-packed 12 field, 2-peghole Ub Iwerks' original animation drawing of both a determined Mickey and an alarmed Minnie Mouse, in the plane. The mage is an unbelievable 10" x 6". There is a blue stamped "339" on the reverse. The word "Finish" is written above the plane. Staining and a crease on the right border, nowhere near the image, and slight tears and edge wear, again nowhere near the image. This is a piece of true animation history, and one of the single best pieces from Plane Crazy that we have ever come across. In Fine condition.
