    Description

Pinocchio Stromboli and Pinocchio Animation Drawings Group of 2 (Walt Disney, 1940).
Pinocchio is the second film from Walt Disney Productions. The film, released on 2/23/40, opens with Jiminy Cricket singing When You Wish Upon A Star as he sits on a bookshelf, with various literary classics, such as Peter Pan, Alice in Wonderland and Pinocchio. After the song ends, Jiminy Cricket greets the audience and acknowledges that many may not believe that a wish may come true, and, as proof of the message, decides to tell the story of Pinocchio. In the film, the evil puppet master Stromboli gestures to Pinocchio who sits with his back facing the viewer, in this pair of original animation drawings. The art is rendered in graphite with red and green pencil highlights on 12 field 5-peghole animation paper. Pinocchio measures 3.5" x 3" and is numbered D113A in the lower right. Stromboli measures 7" x 5.5" and is noted as C-11 in the lower right. Both bear studio production stamps in the lower right. Age-related toning, handling and edge wear, one peghole on the Pinocchio drawing is torn. Condition is Good.
