    Description

Pinocchio Production Drawings Group of 4 (Walt Disney, 1940).
"Prove yourself brave, truthful, and unselfish, and someday, you will be a real boy." Pinocchio is the puppet created by Geppetto and imbued with life by the Blue Fairy. In order to become a real boy, Pinocchio must prove himself, with the help of Jiminy Cricket as his conscience. Pinocchio had seven directors which included Ben Sharpsteen, T. Hee, and Jack Kinney. The film, released on 2/7/40, remains the most critically acclaimed of all the Disney animated features. Pinocchio is one of a handful of films to achieve a 100% "Fresh" rating on Rotten Tomatoes. From Pinocchio we have a sequence of four animation rough drawings showing Geppetto's puppet as he tries to walk and stumbles. The artwork was rendered in graphite and red pencil on 12 field, 5-peghole animation paper. The image of Pinocchio measures 4.5" tall. This is a fantastic sequence of drawings and show how the animators created movement in their characters. Noted in the lower right corner, each piece is numbered as 767, 804, 807, and 819. Edge wear and mild age-related paper toning. Otherwise, Very Good condition.
