Pinocchio Pinocchio and Fish Layout Drawing (Walt Disney, 1940). "Can you tell me where we can find Monstro the Whale?" This beautiful layout from the 1940 Disney classic Pinocchio features a sprawling underwater forest. Pinocchio peers out from the center, surrounded by curious fish. Something similar to this can be found at about 1:11:23 when Pinocchio calls for his father, though it looks like this particular background layout didn't make it into the final version of the film. That makes it even more of a find for collectors. A somewhat similar kelp forest can be found in the scene at the 1:12:38 mark when the seahorses surround Pinocchio. The layout drawing is rendered in graphite and color pencil with eye catching details, including the shadows of the fish and puppet behind the plants. The drawing measures about 12.75'' x 9'' on 10.75'' x 11.75'' trimmed paper with a partial label in the bottom right. Light age-related toning with some handling wear. This includes a few faint folds, minor superficial wrinkles, and small light stains. Fair to Good condition overall.More information about Walt Disney Studios - Pinocchio.
