Description
Pinocchio Monstro Animation Drawing (Walt Disney, 1940). "I told you he'd be furious!" Monstro is truly enraged in this stunning 16 field 5-peghole animation drawing, rendered in graphite with color pencil. It looks to be from the chase scene after Pinocchio, Geppetto, Figaro, and Jiminy escape the whale's mouth. The whale rears up, snarling as he floats on the water. The scene can be found at about 1:21:34. Monstro has an imposing size of about 12'' x 8.5'' - talk about enormous! Monstro's design mixed parts of a sperm whale (body shape, teeth) and blue whale (size, skin color, underbelly). These features can be seen in the drawing. The page is labeled 27A. Pegholes have been added to the bottom and a matching strip has been added to the top. There is some light wrinkling, minor age-related toning, faint handling and edge wear, faint smudging and light residue.
