    Description

Pinocchio Early Design Layout Drawing (Walt Disney, 1940). Rare original story layout drawing of Pinocchio on Pleasure Island, indulging himself with a handful of beans. Other boys are huddled looking away from behind him. This is the very early design of Pinocchio in his green shorts. Nice detailed artwork of 4", drawn in graphite and colored pencil on 12 field 5-peghole animation paper. The studio's newly-created Character Model Department went as far to make model sheets of Pinocchio with this design. Artwork takes up 6.5" x 5" in the center of the page. Notes under the artwork read, "Pin- Puts several handfuls in his mouth." Minor handling and edge wear, and pinholes in borders. Good condition.
