    Description

Pinocchio Blue Fairy Animation Production Drawing (Walt Disney, 1940). "A lie keeps growing and growing until it's as plain as the nose on your face." The beautiful Blue Fairy gives Pinocchio a second chance to mend his ways on the path to becoming a real boy in this scene from the 47:58 mark in this vintage Disney classic. In a story meeting of January 12, 1939, Walt Disney specified that the Blue Fairy was to "give the appearance of loveliness" and she certainly appears lovely here. To create her life-like motion, the animators closely followed live-action footage of Marge Champion who also served as the performance model for Snow White. This is an original animation drawing of the Blue Fairy in full-figure measuring 7" tall on 12 field paper. It's a strikingly beautiful image of this very rare character complete with wings and magic wand. The detail in the character's face is absolutely stunning. Scene numbers have been penciled on the paper to the left of the image. The art matted with an opening of 11.75" x 9" in a 20.75" x 17.5" glass-front frame. The piece shows minor handling wear. Very Good condition. Frame is sold as-is.
