DescriptionPinocchio Animation Drawings Underwater Sequence of 4 (Walt Disney, 1940). The partially-transformed "donkey boy" Pinocchio sinks down to the bottom of the ocean, in this dramatic sequence of four original 12 field 5-peghole animation drawings. These are full-figure images of Pinocchio with his large donkey ears, and a rock tied to his donkey tail as he descends the depths; he's in search of Monstro the whale who has swallowed Geppetto, Cleo, and Figaro along the ship they were sailing. Each drawing in this excellent sequence shows a full-figure image of Pinocchio as he struggles his way down; bubble effects are on each piece. Images of Pinocchio and the rock measure 5.5" (drawing #9A); 4.5" (#C-30); 3.75" (#C-36); and 3.5" (#46-A). Each drawing is in graphite and red pencil, with a few added touches of green and blue pencil highlights. Each drawing has studio stamps in the lower left corners. Minor handling wear, with an overall condition of Very Good.
