    Description

Pinocchio Animation Drawing (Disney, 1940) Pinocchio (in his strange half wooden boy, half donkey form) walks along the ocean floor, and has tied a stone to his tail to use for ballast. He draws ever nearer to the the horrific climax of the film, a battle of wits with the vengeful blue whale, Monstro. This is an absolutely amazing drawing, which says so much about the inventive storytelling abilities at the Disney studio at its prime. A very quirky piece, which just begs to be framed and admired. Pinocchio measures 5" x 3", and wonderfully detailed effects animation of underwater bubbles have been added and swirl around him all throughout the 12f animation paper. He is rendered in colored pencil and graphite. Small sequential numbering at bottom right corner, in pencil, reads " SW - C-76". Stamped text at bottom left corner reads "Prod 2003 Seq 10 Scene 71". Slight age-related yellowing of paper, minor handling and edge wear. In Fine condition.
