Description
Peter Pan Wendy with Michael's Headband Animation Drawing (Walt Disney, 1953). "Oh, for goodness sake. Please, boys. Do you want to stay here and grow up like...like savages?" Wendy the "Little Mother" is starting to get fed up with the antics of the mischievous Peter Pan as they are starting to rub off on to her siblings John and Michael in this original animation drawing. Based off the play by Scottish novelist and playwright James Matthew "J.M." Barrie (1860-1937), the animated adventure fantasy film follows English siblings, Wendy and her brothers, as they are whisked away to the enchanted world of Neverland by the hero of their fairytales, Peter Pan. The imaginative and caring Wendy was voiced by Kathryn Beaumont who not only played one titular character for Disney, but two as she was so impressive with her modeling performance at the age of ten as Alice, she was chosen by Walt Disney himself to portray Alice in Alice in Wonderland (1951). The 3-peg hole drawing is marked '91' in the lower right corner and can be seen at the 57:47 timestamp of the film. The wonderfully hand drawn image of Wendy taking off Michael's Indian headband measures 7.5" x 10.25" and is skillfully rendered in graphite and colored pencil. The overall condition is Good with some handling and edge wear, noticeable wrinkling, some age-related toning, and light tear.Auction Info
