Description
Peter Pan Peter Pan Rough Animation Drawing (Walt Disney, 1953). "A pretty sight, Mr. Smee. We'll pot 'em like sitting ducks." Unaware of the danger lurking below, Peter surveys Neverland from atop a cloud in this phenomenal original rough animation drawing from the 1953 Disney classic Peter Pan. Adapting J. M. Barrie's 1904 play, this film would be the final time all members of Disney's Nine Old Men would serve as supervising animators together. This graceful pose can be spotted near the 27:22 timestamp of the film through Hook's spyglass as Peter makes sweeping gestures introducing Never Land to the Darlings after they arrive amongst the pillowy clouds. He has been rendered in graphite to full-figure with his erased right hand still faintly visible, measuring 4.25" x 6.75" nicely centered on the 16 field animation sheet. The page is numbered 29 in the lower right and includes timing charts on both side edges with some evidence of erased animator's notes near his character image; a CoA is also included. With typical handling and edge wear including faint age-related toning, some peghole reinforcement, small edge/peghole tears, and faint surface wear/staining, overall this joyful introduction is in Good condition.Auction Info
