Description

Peter Pan Peter Pan Animation Drawing (Walt Disney, 1953). "Watch this, Wendy." Flyboy Peter Pan is joyously teasing the rotten Captain Hook right before he divebombs him in this original animation drawing. Based off the play by Scottish novelist and playwright James Matthew "J.M." Barrie (1860-1937), the animated adventure fantasy film follows English siblings, Wendy and her brothers, as they are whisked away to the enchanted world of Neverland by the hero of their fairytales, Peter Pan. The cocky adventurer was voiced by Bobby Driscoll (1937-1968) who not only served as the live action model for Peter Pan, but his performance was filmed and then rotoscoped for the animated character. Even though his character was animated, he was the first boy ever to play the titular character Peter Pan since before then the role was only portrayed by a women. The original drawing marked '13' in the lower right corner can be seen at the 42:22 timestamp of the film while the drawings marked '19' and '20' can be seen during the 42:23 - 42:24 timestamp. The delightfully hand drawn images of Peter Pan measures between 3" x 2.5" and 5" x 2" with them skillfully rendered in graphite and colored pencil. The overall condition is Good with handling and edge wear, some age-related toning, and slight tear.
