Description

Peter Pan Captain Hook Animation Drawing (Walt Disney, 1953). "Oh, my head." Captain Hook groans, holding the hot compress to his head. This stunning 16 field 3-peghole animation drawing comes from the 1953 feature film Peter Pan. Captain Hook, animated by Disney Legend and one of Disney's "Nine Old Men" Frank Thomas (1912 - 2004), is the antagonist in the film. He does everything he can to destroy Peter Pan and his friends. The hand-drawn and hand-colored image of the captain includes colored highlights and the water dripping from the compress on his head. You can find it at about 46:31 in the film when Hook is revealed to have a cold and a splitting headache after his encounter with Tick-Tock on Skull Rock. The large drawing measures about 5.75'' x 9.25'' and is centered on the paper. The drawing is rendered in graphite with color pencil and numbers 31 in the lower right. There is minor age-related toning and light edge and handling wear. With only faint debris and a small crease, this drawing is in Very Good to Fine condition.
