Description

Peter Ellenshaw "Skiing 2" Original Art (1995). Here's a gorgeous painting depicting Aspen during magic hour. Skiing was a favorite subject for renowned Hollywood studio matte painter and visual effects artist Peter Ellenshaw (1913 - 2007). Ellenshaw did a series of ski paintings during his long career as a celebrated matte painter. While still in Europe, he began to work for MGM on Quo Vadis (1951), but his most extensive association was with Walt Disney Studios beginning with their first completely live action feature film, Treasure Island (1950). He went on to work on 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea (1954) and Mary Poppins (1964), for which he won an Academy Award®. In 1993 Ellenshaw was inducted into Disney's hall of fame program as an official Disney Legend. This brilliant painting was rendered on 24" x 18" stretched canvas. Fine condition.
