Peter Ellenshaw "Running Before the Wind" Original Painting (1958). This is a magnificent sailboat painting by Disney Legend, Peter Ellenshaw (1913 - 2007). Known for his amazing seascapes, Peter Ellenshaw's artistic career spanned more than seven decades. He has received numerous awards from many prestigious institutions, among them the Museum of Modern Art in New York and the American Film Institute in Chicago. With over 50 films to his credit, Peter would receive five Academy Award® nominations, taking home the coveted OSCAR® for his stunning recreation of Edwardian London in Walt Disney's Mary Poppins. In 1993 Ellenshaw was inducted into Disney's hall of fame program as an official Disney Legend. In 2017 Peter Ellenshaw was posthumously inducted in the Visual Effects Society's Hall of Fame. He also has the distinction of having his name appear in a window on Main Street in Disneyland, an honor bestowed upon only a few who help create the magic.
