Description
Pair of Original Sketches by Disney Animator Tom Sito of The Beast and Aladdin (Walt Disney, 1991/92). Pair of original rough animation sketches by Disney animator Tom Sito, featuring the Beast and Aladdin. Rendered in graphite on studio animation paper, the Aladdin drawing is on 12-field paper and inscribed "How do I look?"; the Beast is on 16-field paper and cheekily labeled "Da Beast." Both are signed, dedicated "to Jan," and dated by Sito. A key figure of the Disney Renaissance, Sito contributed to The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, The Lion King, Pocahontas, Fantasia 2000, and Dinosaur. His career began under Harvey Kurtzman, with early credits including Raggedy Ann & Andy (for Richard Williams) and subsequent work on Who Framed Roger Rabbit before joining Disney Feature Animation in 1988. These lively roughs showcase Sito's confident line, expressive construction, and character appeal at the exploratory stage-essential qualities that shaped the finished films. A terrific two-piece set for Disney collectors and students of animation craft. Artwork condition is Very Good.Auction Info
