Out of Scale Chip Animation Drawings Sequence of 2 (Walt Disney, 1951). Donald has a small-scale locomotive in his backyard, declares Chip and Dale's tree "Out of Scale" and has it removed in the Jack Hanna-directed short released 11/2/51. This cartoon is unique because it's a take on Walt Disney's backyard railroad the "Carolwood Pacific". The engine is modeled after the Lillie Belle, Walt's real steam engine and Canyonville was one of the towns that the Carolwood Pacific Railroad serviced in his back yard. Both drawings are from the scene where the chipmunks have taken up living in one of the tiny homes ecircled by the train, and here Chip is sweeping off the front porch of their new home. They can be seen around the 3:40 mark. Each in the sequence feature full body images of Chip who stands approximately 4" tall in graphite on 12 field 3-peghole animation paper which are numbered 31 and 39 respectively. The pair show minor handling and edgewear. The drawing numbered 39 shows additional tanning, edge wear, staple holes and a piece of masking tape above the image. Condition is Very Good.
