    Description

Oswald the Lucky Rabbit Animation Drawing (Walt Disney, 1927-28). Before there was Mickey Mouse... there was Oswald the Lucky Rabbit! Ub Iwerks and Walt Disney created this anthropomorphic rabbit in the 1920s for Universal Pictures. This is a very rare Disney Oswald animation drawing. Disney made 26 Oswald cartoons from 1927-28. Eight of these are completely lost with no existing copies! The graphite Oswald stands 4.25" tall on this 12 field 2-peghole animation paper. It is marked as "R.P. 14 & 15" in the bottom center, and 14 on the bottom right corner. Disney Studios acquired the rights to Oswald the Lucky Rabbit in a trade for on-air rights to Al Michaels, so that Michaels could do play-by-play announcing for Sunday Night Football. This very rare piece is Plexiglas front framed to 14.5" x 14" and in Fine condition.
