Description

Orphan's Benefit Long-Billed Donald Duck Animation Drawing (Walt Disney, 1934). "Little Boy Blue, come blow your horn," recites Donald Duck as part of his performance for Mickey Mouse's Orphan's Benefit show. Donald fumbles over the words, and he finds himself constantly interrupted by the audience of playful orphans, who blow their noses loudly to emphasize the line about the horn. This short was Donald Duck's very first appearance in a Mickey Mouse cartoon, and only his second ever appearance on-screen! It was also Donald's first starring role in animation, as his previous animated appearance in The Wise Little Hen was as a supporting character. This excellent drawing is rendered with graphite on 12 field, 2-peghole animation paper. The page is numbered in its lower right corner with 126. The image of Donald in his sailor suit and hat measures about 2.25" x 3". This historic piece is in Very Good to Fine condition, with minor handling and edge wear, as well as normal age-related toning.
