Description

Oliver & Company Fagin Animation Drawings, Sequence of 3 (Walt Disney, 1988). A fantastic sequence of three original production drawings from Walt Disney's 27th animated feature film, Oliver & Company, vividly brings to life the character of Fagin, voiced by Dom DeLuise and animated by Glen Keane and Kathy Zielinski. In the film, Fagin is portrayed as a down-on-his-luck petty criminal residing on a houseboat with his canine companions. Despite his involvement in minor criminal activities like pick-pocketing, necessitated by his urgent need to repay a debt to the menacing Sykes, Fagin's true nature is one of inherent kindness. These drawings, meticulously rendered in graphite on 12" field-size animation paper, are each uniquely numbered 79, 131, and 139, providing a sequential glimpse into Fagin's character development. With one drawing featuring the animator's hand-written timing notations, each piece is also stamped with "Property of Walt Disney Company". Despite some minor handling and edge wear, these drawings are preserved in Very Good condition, making them a treasured insight into the artistic process behind this cherished animated film.
