Naruto Shippuden Pain Animation Drawing Sequential Pair (Pierrot, c. 2009 - 2010). "Those who do not understand true pain can never understand true peace." Original leader of the Akatsuki, the powerful Pain is presented in this sequential pair of phenomenal closeup animation drawings from one of his appearances in the long-running smash hit anime series Naruto Shippuden. Pain's Rinnegan is featured prominently in Shippuden's fifth intro sequence "Light of a Firefly" which was used for Episodes 103 - 128, with his full character is seen in intros six and seven as well. Though previously referenced or shown cloaked in shadows, Pain makes his first full appearance during a flashback in Episode 114 "Eye of the Hawk" (2009) and is a key player throughout the Master's Prophecy and Vengeance arc of Season Six and the Two Saviors arc of Season Seven with his final appearance being Season Eight's finale Episode 175 "Hero of the Leaf" (2010). Here he has been rendered in graphite with colored pencil detail on one sheet, featuring remarkable closeups averaging 8.5" x 7.5" in size which span the 11.75" x 8.25" Pierrot studio layout sheets nearly edge-to-edge with both sheets including frame numbers in the righthand margins. With typical handling and edge wear, overall this god-like villain is in Very Good condition.
