Description
Mulan Storyboard Thumbnail Drawings by Armand Serrano (Walt Disney, 1998). These gorgeous original story thumbnail drawings were created by Armand Serrano, who was the Key Layout Artist for Walt Disney's 1998 animated feature film Mulan. These drawings were created early in the development of the film. They were likely created for an early version of the film's storyboard workbook, as a guide to the perspective, angles, and story of the layout drawings for the film. There are 16 thumbnails in total, and they are gorgeously rendered, varying from grayscale marker sketches to pencil artwork to marker and gouache illustrations. This looks to be a particularly early version of the story, with a few surprisingly gruesome thumbnails! Four thumbnails are drawn directly onto the 16" x 10.5" sheet, while the others are taped onto the page. The stunning piece is in Good to Very Good condition, with some handling and edge wear, including tape toning, minor smudging, and minor creasing.
