Description

Mulan Original Storyboard Art Group of 3 by Thom Enriquez (Walt Disney, 1998). The beautiful group of three original storyboards by longtime story artist Thom Enriquez showcase a few early interactions between Mulan and her father, Fa Zhou, and with her future love interest Shang as well as a mysterious figure that doesn't appear in the final film. Each storyboard is rendered in mixed media and are rendered on paper ranging from 10'' x 7.75'' to 11.25'' x 8.5''. The sullen storyboard of Mulan watching her father from afar is similar to a few scenes in the film but may have been created for Mulan's return home from the war. Her interaction with Shang while disguised as a soldier, both smiling to themselves, doesn't appear in the final film but is a great look at their budding relationship during Mulan's time in the army. The final storyboard features a character that doesn't appear in the final film, and is likely a Hun soldier or assassin creeping into the palace. Each of these detailed storyboards have been signed by Enriquez and are in Very Good condition with pinholes from studio use, faint edge and handling wear, and a small stain on one storyboard.
From the Noted Disney Concept and Story Artist Thom Enriquez Collection.
